Meet Erin - Erin McClain Studio

Meet Erin

Hi and welcome! I'm Erin McClain Beck, and I'm a professional photographer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I'm a professional photographer with experience working with both personal and corporate clients. I've shot architectural and private real estate, group and individual portraits (head shots), fine art landscapes, stock photos and non-profit and corporate events. Since 2009 it's been my privilege to work with all kinds of clients, families, nervous brides and nature trail guides!

My focus has turned to commercial and corporate photography. I'm available for commercial portraiture (head shots), corporate team photos, real estate photos, food photography, collaborative blogging relationships, social media campaigns, and teaching.

Find my already published work available for purchase at Society6, or view it in the inaugural issue of Swamp Ape review. In addition to photographic work, I'm a fabric designer, painter and writer. Hand drawn and digital fabric designs are available for purchase on Spoonflower. My short stories have been published by Eggplant Productions, Devilfish Review, Spirit's Tincture Magazine and Ligature Works under the name EM Beck.

Aside from my work, I'm an active volunteer with the Junior League of Pittsburgh, a two time AmeriCorps Service alumnae, a member of the Professional Photographers of America and Sisters in Crime -- a writing society for mystery authors.

I don't just love taking photos, I love art!

Many of my photos aren't just to document your special occasions, they're for inspiration. Photography helps me create the colorful, floral motifs that appear in a lot of my paintings -- I just can't help it, I love flowers! In the pursuit of finding beautiful gardens, I've traveled to so many great places. My favorite so far has been The Mount -- the Berkshires home of author Edith Wharton. Fabric design is a fun part of my artistic process as well. I've got a whole gallery on Spoonflower full of my own artistic designs. If you're interested in making your own, give Spoonflower a try. There's also a very helpful class on Creativebug led by industry experts that has been of immense help to me on my design journey. Check out my Spoonflower gallery here. My fine art photography and prints of my paintings are available for purchase using the shop link. If you're interested in putting my work into a gallery or buying original paintings, please contact me by email. I'm always willing to work with you to reach your goals, and payment plans are available. Previously my art has been displayed in a group exhibition at Karlsson Fine Arts Gallery in Avon, CT and published in the inaugural issue of the magazine Swamp Ape Review.

Fabric Design is a mix of many art forms

I knew nothing about fabric design before I started trying it for myself. Sometimes, you just have to let the fact that you know nothing lead you on, knowing that you can only go up from there! I started by listening to people who made it, reading books and taking classes in graphic and surface pattern design, all while trying out my own creations and learning photoshop.

My fabric designs are available on Spoonflower. Here's a preview gallery of the many designs I have available for purchase. Spoonflower is print on demand, so every purchase is custom made for the order. View my Spoonflower gallery here.
